Our afternoon excursion to Snowbird was a lot of fun! We decided to drive the girls up there and ride the tram to the top, where you can see the Salt Lake Valley on one side and Heber Valley on the other. Averi was so excited to go up into the mountains, but as we were about to get on the tram, she began to have second thoughts. (of course :)) Lilia was so excited she was trying to climb out of the tram windows to touch the top of the pine trees! As we began going uphill, Averi's nerves took over and she began to panic. I just held her tight and told her it was almost over. The irony is that her reaction reminded all to much of my childhood feelings of heights and rides. So, I completely sympathized with her. She was very brave though and towards the end of the ride liked the "Magic Bus" (as she called it). When we got off the tram there was some snow left on the mountain and my girls had a ball playing in it and throwing rocks down the mountain. It was absolutely beautiful on top and nice to be out of the 100 degree weather for a moment. Brad reminded me that as always I can't go anywhere without making a new "friend" along the way. Our new aquintance was Melody. She was a 50 year old pastor from Muncie Indiana. Melody was staying up at Snowbird for a Persbytarian Conference, with 400 other pastors from around the country. She was very nice and took to my little girls, telling me that she also had two daughters, and likes to remember when they were young like mine.
It was time to ride the tram down and the moods and feelings changed between Averi and Lilia. Averi thought going down was wonderful and Lilia cried everytime we would acelerate down the hill. It was time to go home, which Averi was not to fond of and started to cry as we walked to our car. Because of our comotion, one of the Snowbird workers came to us and asked if we could be quiet, because not 15 feet away was a Mama moose and her baby. It was amazing to see! My girls were so excited, it was hard to keep them quiet, especially Brad! Next, as we were driving down the canyon, there walking on the side of the road was a wolf! We struck it big in our animal adventures!! So, attached our some pictures of our excursion.

Allie--can't believe you met someone from good ol' Muncie, Indiana!! You remember that is where we were for 3 years, right? It is a small town in the middle of nowhere so I can't believe you had a connection with someone from there. Small, crazy world.
